The agency's powerful space launch system rocket will launch four astronauts aboard the Orion spacecraft for a multi-day journey into their lunar orbit. There the two crew members will transfer to the SpaceX Human Landing System (HLS) for the final episode of their journey to the surface of the moon. After about a week of surface research, they will take Londer back into orbit on their short voyage where they will meet in full before returning to Earth to Orion and their colleagues.
